The Indian Air Force (IAF) has announced online applications for unmarried Indian male candidates to participate in Recruitment Trials for Outstanding Sportsmen as Agniveervayu (Sports) Intake 02/2025 under the Agnipath Scheme. Eligibility Criteria For IAF Agniveervayu (Sports)

Age Limit

  • Date of Birth Block: Candidates born between July 3, 2004, and January 3, 2008 (both dates inclusive) are eligible to apply.
  • Upper Age Limit: If a candidate clears all stages of the Selection Trial, the upper age limit as of the date of enrolment should be 21 years.

Educational Qualification

  • Science Subjects:
    • Passed Intermediate/10+2/ Equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics, and English from an Education Board recognized by Central, State, and UT with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
    • OR Passed Three years Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Automobile/ Computer Science/ Instrumentation Technology/ Information Technology) from a Government-recognized Polytechnic institute with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in diploma course (or in Intermediate/Matriculation if English is not a subject in the Diploma Course).
    • OR Passed Two years Vocational course with non-vocational subjects viz. Physics and Mathematics from an Education Board recognized by Central, State, and UT with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in vocational course (or in Intermediate / Matriculation if English is not a subject in vocational course).
  • Other Than Science Subjects:
    • Passed Intermediate/ 10+2/ Equivalent Examination in any stream/ subjects approved by Education Boards recognised by Central, State and UT with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
    • OR Passed two years vocational course from Education Boards recognised by Central, State and UT with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in vocational course (or in Intermediate/ Matriculation if English is not a subject in Vocational Course).
    Note: Candidates eligible for Science Subjects examination are also eligible for Other than Science Subjects.

Sports Achievements

  • Individual should have represented the country in Junior/ Senior International competitions recognised by International Olympics committee (IOA) in any of the sports disciplines mentioned above.
  • Individual should have attained the minimum standard of fifth place in the Junior National competitions, represented the State/Union Territory in Senior National competitions conducted by respective Sports Federations or All India Inter University competitions or SAI (Khelo India National) in any of the sports disciplines mentioned above.
  • In team events, the individual should have represented the state in Junior/ Senior National competitions conducted by respective Sports Federations or All India Inter University Championship or SAI (Khelo India National) in any of the sports disciplines mentioned above.
  • For Cricket Discipline Only: Candidates who have played All India Inter-University or BCCI Trophies โ€“ U-19, U-23, Ranji Trophy, Duleep Trophy, Deodhar Trophy or higher participation are only eligible to apply.
  • For Shooting Discipline Only: Candidates who have International Medal/ Participation representing India OR have attained the national ranking (NSCC) up to 50th rank in 10M Air Pistol/ 10M Air Rifle/ 50M Rifle 3P/ 25M Rapid Fire pistol.

IAF Agniveervayu (Sports) Recruitment Selection Process

  1. Verification of Eligibility: Document verification to ascertain eligibility.
  2. Physical Fitness Test (PFT):
    • 1.6 Km run to be completed within 07 minutes.
    • 10 Push-ups within 01 minute.
    • 10 Sit-ups within 01 minute.
    • 20 Squats within 01 minute.
  3. Sports Skill Trials: Conducted for PFT pass candidates in Delhi-NCR at venues decided by AFSCB.
  4. Medical Examination: Conducted by the Air Force Medical Team as per IAF medical standards.
